One player who worn the captain’s armband at both these clubs is Sergio Ramos, the imposing centre-back from Camas, just outside the city of Seville. The defender emerged through the Sevilla FC academy and burst onto the scene playing for Los Hispalenses, before completing a big money transfer to Real Madrid, where he inherited the No.4 of Fernando Hierro. Another who followed the road to Sevilla FC and then on to Real Madrid was Júlio Baptista. The Brazilian moved from São Paulo to Sevilla FC in 2003 and, in his first season there, he scored 20 goals. In the 2004/05 campaign, he scored 18 more goals to help Sevilla FC qualify for the UEFA Cup after nine years without playing in that competition. At the height of his powers, Baptista joined Real Madrid in the summer of 2005. After a loan to Arsenal, on his return he was one of the key players who helped the club win the LALIGA EA SPORTS title in the 2007/08 season. José Antonio Reyes

Iván Zamorano
Yet another forward who moved from Sevilla FC to Real Madrid is Iván Zamorano. When the Chilean arrived at Sevilla FC in 1990, his goalscoring numbers didn’t immediately jump off the page, with nine in his first season and 12 in his second. It’s not only goalscorers who have played for both of these clubs. Legendary Spanish goalkeeper Paco Buyo played for Sevilla FC from 1980 to 1986 and for Real Madrid for 1986 to 1997. With 542 appearances in Spanish football’s top flight, he has made the seventh-most LALIGA EA SPORTS outings of all time, and 199 of these came for Sevilla FC and 343 for Real Madrid.
