Dave Calo, Director of the Lake Basin Development Authority, is currently appearing before the JKIA Law Courts in connection with the murder of the Kasipul Member of Parliament Charles Ong’ondo Were.

In a miscellaneous application, the prosecution seeks to detain Calo for 30 days to allow police to complete investigations.

Prosecutors argued that his release could interfere with witnesses and ongoing inquiries.

The defence, led by lawyer Danstan Omari, is yet to respond to the application.

Meanwhile, businessman Phillip Aroko, who presented himself to the police, is also expected to be arraigned in the same court.

Aroko surrendered to police at the Gigiri Police Station, moments after he was named by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) as a person of interest in the murder of Kasipul MP Charles Ong’ondo Were.
