The motorsport and lifestyle festival brought together regional and international motorsport talent for a three-day adrenaline-fueled spectacle running through December 14.
This year’s edition attracted 70 drivers from four countries including Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and South Africa underscoring the event’s growing regional and continental appeal. Over 1,000 fans turned up for the event, positioning Mud4Fun as a powerful platform for the promotion of sports and adventure tourism in Kenya.
Speaking at the close of Mud4Fun 5.0, event leader Kinuthia Wa Chege said the motorsport festival had marked its biggest edition yet, citing a redesigned track, expanded spectator zones, and enhanced safety measures.
“This has been our biggest edition so far, with a redesigned track, expanded spectator zones, and enhanced safety measures. We are thrilled to have hosted 70 drivers across multiple off-road categories and welcomed thousands of fans and families. The refreshed layout and enriched programme reflect our commitment to delivering a world-class motorsport and lifestyle experience in a stunning natural setting,” he said.
Kinuthia noted that the sport has continued to grow, with the number of entrants rising from 49 last year to 70 this year, a development he described as a pointer to the potential Mud4Fun holds in growing motorsport in the country.

Kenya Tourism Board (KTB) CEO June Chepkemei said motorsport activities are a crucial strategy of diversifying tourism products beyond the region’s traditional attractions, highlighting the event’s strategic role in advancing sports tourism.
“Events like Mud4Fun are critical in positioning Kenya as a hub for adventure and motorsport tourism. The participation of drivers from Uganda, Tanzania, and South Africa demonstrates the event’s growing international stature.
She added, “As partners of the 2026 WRC Safari Rally, we see Mud4Fun as a key build-up event that stimulates fan engagement, drives domestic travel, and reinforces Kenya’s reputation as a leading global motorsport destination.”
Beyond competition, the Mud4Fun 4×4 Challenge continues to champion environmental conservation through its Mud4Green sustainability pillar. The initiative promotes tree planting and ecological restoration, reinforcing the event’s commitment to balancing sports tourism with environmental responsibility while contributing to the long-term national goal of growing 10 million trees across the country.
