This month’s winners are:

Best Player: Isco Alarcón has been named LALIGA EA SPORTS Player of the Month for April, an award presented by LALIGA together with EA. The Spanish midfielder has excelled in last month for Real Betis who picked up two wins and a draw, taking seven points from a possible nine.

Isco put in three great performances last month, scoring a goal and providing an assist. Real Betis secured a tightly fought 2-1 win over RC Celta at the Benito Villamarín where Isco provided a fantastic assist for Fekir, and for which they also won the LALIGA EA SPORTS Play of the Month award for April. Real Betis beat seventh-place Valencia CF 2-1 away at Mestalla, an important win over a team close to them in the league, while Isco scored from the spot to secure a point for his side in the highly-charged ELGRAN DERBI against Sevilla FC.

Best Goal: João Felix’s goal against Cadiz FC has been selected as the LALIGA EA SPORTS Goal of the Month for April, an award handed out by LALIGA in partnership with GolBall. The 24-year-old surprised the Cadiz CF defence with a spectacular acrobatic finish to give his side a victory in what was a tough away day at the Nuevo Mirandilla.

It was the 37th minute of the game and the scores were level at 0-0 when the Portuguese took to the air to connect with a loose ball from a corner, which had been inadvertently flicked on by Cadiz CF player Alex Fernandez at the near post. Felix’s scissor-kick effort came off perfectly and the host’s goalkeeper had no chance of stopping it. It was to be the only goal of the encounter, enough to earn FC Barcelona a 1-0 win and all three points.

Best Coach: Carlo Ancelotti has been named the LALIGA EA SPORTS Manager of the Month for April, an accolade awarded by LALIGA in partnership with Microsoft. The Real Madrid manager has signed off on a sensational month, taking nine points out of nine and keeping his team free and clear at the top of the table.

Los Blancos came out on top against Mallorca (1-0), FC Barcelona (3-2) and Real Sociedad (1-0). Of particular note was the victory in ELCLASICO, with a comeback to boot, where they took a massive step towards securing the LALIGA EA SPORTS title, which they wrapped up this past weekend.

Best Under-23 Player: Miguel Gutiérrez has been named the LALIGA EA SPORTS Under-23 Player of the Month for April, an award handed out by LALIGA in partnership with Sorare. The 22-year-old, now a crucial part of Michel’s Girona FC side, has been one of LALIGA’s breakout stars of the 2023/24 campaign.

The left-back’s performances once again proved to be pivotal for the high-flying Catalans in April. He gave two assists in Girona FC’s 3-0 win over Cádiz CF, which sealed his side’s place in Europe for next season. The first was a sensational back-heel to Iván Martín for Girona CF’s second goal, while the following one saw free-scoring Artem Dovbyk round off a 3-0 win.

Best Play: Isco Alarcón and Nabil Fekir have received the LALIGA EA SPORTS Best Play award for April, an accolade awarded by LALIGA in conjunction with VisitSaudi.

Real Betis held a narrow lead at the Benito Villamarin with just seven minutes remaining against an RC Celta side who were pushing for an equalizer. Isco stepped up to the plate and provided a moment of inspiration, dinking a lovely ball with the outside of his foot through to Nabil Fekir, who finished with aplomb after outwitting the RC Celta defence. The hosts were left on tenterhooks as VAR intervened to confirm whether Fekir was onside when he received the ball, but the goal was eventually given, much to the delight of the two Betis stars.+
