The Kenya Ladies Golf Union (KLGU) Eileen Belcher amateur golf tournament will be held at the par 72 Sigona Golf Club this coming weekend.
The tournament powered by KCB will see over 100 top amateur lady golfers grace the course for a competitive golf outing that is expected to tee off at 6:30 am.
Seasoned golfer Diana Mbuba who recently clinched the KLGU championship at the Royal Nairobi Club is set to headline the event including Mercy Nyanchama, Mukami Mungai and other lady golfers.
Sigona Golf Club Captain, Jimmy Kibugi said: “Sigona is happy to be associated with the Kenya Ladies Golf Union (KLGU) and KCB. Through our partnership, we will provide an opportunity to golfers to showcase their skills and enjoy themselves here at the club. The course is good, so we expect a good turnout on Saturday.”
KCB has continued with its commitment to enhance the sport through such sponsorships that are aimed at demystifying the perception that golf belongs to the elite and the male gender.
“At KCB, we are dedicated to expanding the game of golf and through our KCB East Africa Golf Tour, we have been able to reach over 1500 participants and over 800 juniors and ladies who take part in our golf clinics that run concurrently with the tour. Through the KLGU partnership, we also want to encourage more women to play golf and to open it up for any budding golfers out there,” noted KCB Group Director Marketing and Communication, Rosalind Gichuru.
The 16th leg of the KCB East Africa Golf Tour will be held at the Nyali Golf Club on November 4, 2023. The series will then head to Nandi Bears Club before the grand finale on November 24, at the Karen Country Club.
