Valencia CF have reached an agreement with AFC Bournemouth to loan in full-back Max Aarons until June 30th in a deal which includes an option to buy at the end of the season. Aarons follows Nigerian striker Umar Sadiq in through the door at Mestalla as the latest addition to strengthen the club’s squad this month. The right-back has been drafted in to address one of the team’s most pressing needs after injury struck down Portuguese international Thierry Correia. A former England youth international, Aarons brings significant experience to the table having made his Premier League debut at just 19 years old.
Aarons began his professional career with Norwich City FC, where he worked his way up through the youth system to make over 200 appearances in top-level English football. After leaving Norwich, he joined AFC Bournemouth in 2023.
The full-back has already completed his first training session with the team after undergoing his medical, and his official presentation will take place on Thursday, January 16, at 1pm CET at Valencia CF’s Ciutat Esportiva Media Center.
In photos released this week by the club, Aarons is seen training alongside his new teammates under the guidance of head coach Carlos Corberán. Aarons and Corberán are familiar with each other from their time in English football, where Corberán served as assistant coach to Marcelo Bielsa at Leeds United, and as head coach of Huddersfield Town and, most recently, West Bromwich Albion.
