Valencia CF (12th, 39 points)

Valencia CF have often found themselves involved at this end of the table in recent years, and they’ve always managed to pick enough points to stay up. Los Che haven’t played in Spanish football’s second tier since 1986/87, and coach Carlos Corberán is hoping to keep it that way. There are some very tricky fixtures remaining for Valencia CF, though, so they’ll have to put in some strong performance to achieve their objective.

Remaining fixtures: Athletic Club (A), Rayo Vallecano (H), Real Sociedad (A), FC Barcelona (H)

RCD Espanyol (13th, 39 points)

A few months ago, RCD Espanyol were looking like they’d be challenging for a European qualification spot. However, they haven’t won a single league game since December and have fallen further and further down the table. They’re now very much at risk of falling even further, down to the relegation zone.

Remaining fixtures: Sevilla FC (A), Athletic Club (H), CA Osasuna (A), Real Sociedad (H)

Elche CF (14th, 38 points)

After winning promotion last summer, Elche CF enjoyed an excellent start to the 2025/26 LALIGA EA SPORTS season. They then suffered a mid-season slump, but they’ve responded well by winning three of their past four matches. That has helped move them back up the table, although there is still work to do.

Remaining fixtures: Deportivo Alavés (H), Real Betis (A), Getafe CF (H), Girona FC (A)

RCD Mallorca (15th, 38 points)

In Vedat Muriqi, RCD Mallorca have the second-top scorer in LALIGA EA SPORTS in their ranks. However, there aren’t many other members of the squad contributing in terms of goals, while their defence has been one of the most porous in the competition. With former centre-back Martín Demichelis having come in as the coach of the team, and having been named Best Coach of April, the defence is gradually improving and the islanders hope to pick up enough points to stay up.

Remaining fixtures: Villarreal CF (H), Getafe CF (A), Levante UD (A), Real Oviedo (H)

Girona FC (16th, 38 points)

Girona FC started this season terribly, and spent 12 of the first 14 matchdays of the season inside the relegation zone. They did then improve, and looked to be safe from relegation after a run of positive results. However, three defeats in a row in Matchdays 32, 33 and 34 mean that the Catalan outfit are suddenly in trouble once again. With a home game against fellow relegation rivals Elche CF on the final day, Girona FC’s fate might be decided in the final moments of the season.

Remaining fixtures: Rayo Vallecano (A), Real Sociedad (H), Atlético de Madrid (A), Elche CF (H)

Sevilla FC (17th, 37 points)

This has been a difficult season for Sevilla FC, who are at serious risk of being relegated to LALIGA HYPERMOTION. This historic club hasn’t been at that level since 2000/01, but things just haven’t been clicking at the Estadio Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán. Los Nervionenses have changed coach, bringing in Luis García Plaza for the relegation run-in, but they’ve fallen further down the table. A win last matchday was crucial, but there’s a long way to go.

Remaining fixtures: RCD Espanyol (H), Villarreal CF (A), Real Madrid (H), RC Celta (A)

Deportivo Alavés (18th, 36 points)

Deportivo Alavés have only actually spent two single matchdays this season inside the bottom three, but one of these matchdays is right now. Their run-in is a mix of matches against Spain’s best and against their fellow relegation rivals, so anything could happen over the final weeks of the season. With an experienced coach in Quique Sánchez Flores, following the departure of Eduardo Coudet, the Basques will hope he can steer the team to safety.

Remaining fixtures: Elche CF (A), FC Barcelona (H), Real Oviedo (A), Rayo Vallecano (H)

Levante UD (19th, 33 points)

Levante UD have improved in recent weeks, but their rivals are picking up points and it might be too little too late. They do have the LALIGA EA SPORTS March Player of the Month in their ranks, in Carlos Espí. If he can keep up his second-half-of-the-season form, the club from Valencia could yet climb to safety.

Remaining fixtures: CA Osasuna (H), RC Celta (A), RCD Mallorca (H), Real Betis (A)

Real Oviedo (20th, 28 points)

Real Oviedo finally returned to Spanish football’s top tier last summer, after a 24-year exodus. Now, the Asturian outfit will look to stay in the promised land by putting together an epic end to the season. They’ve improved over the past couple of months, but it might be too little too late. Nevertheless, Real Oviedo will keep fighting to the end, and their final two fixtures are against direct relegation rivals.

Remaining fixtures: Getafe CF (H), Real Madrid (A), Deportivo Alavés (H), RCD Mallorca (A)
