Sports Journalists Association of Kenya (SJAK) FC was on Friday sponsored by leading gaming firm Mozzart Bet in Nairobi.
The scribes outfit received quality playing kits including jerseys, shorts, socks, balls among others from the betting firm.
The kind gesture comes in wake of the forthcoming Chairman’s Super Cup that SJAK players are stepping up training to take part in.
The tournament will be held at the Parklands Sports Club in the Kenyan capital.
SJAK is also planning for the AIPS Sports Day where journalists, including mainstream media and freelancers, will battle out for glory in football and other games.
While handing over the kits to SJAK, Mozzart Bet Head of Marketing and Corporate Social Responsibility Frank Ochieng stated: “Mozzart is a Company that over the years has shown commitment in the Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives over the years. We are glad that today we are here at the SJAK offices to sign this deal. We are grateful that with this partnership, we are reaching other scribes from around the country through this initiative. We really appreciate the support that SJAK gives us from time to time. So today we are donating kits to the football team as part of our ‘New Jerseys for New Champions’ CSR initiative which is a project that started three years ago and so far we’ve been able to donate jerseys and balls to over 400 teams around the country and we are grafted to be here today. We are looking at various conversations with Waindi (SJAK chairman) and his team to be able to see how Mozzart can strengthen the partnership. But today is just to boost your team with the kitting.”
SJAK President James Waindi while acknowledging the kind gesture reiterated that the scribes body will be hosting high profile events this season and the kind support from Mozzart Bet could not have come at a better time than this.
SJAK head coach Gregory Mulemi underlined that the sponsorship will strengthen the already existing cordial relationship between the two entities.
On his part, SJAK Assistant Captain
Erick Ochieng highlighted: “The partnership today will go along way in sealing our relationship with Mozzart Bet. I believe it’s not just a one off. We have the Chairman’s Cup coming up at Parkland Sports Club and also several friendly matches lined up and we will also have the AIPS Sports Day which is an annual event celebrated by journalists across the globe.”
