Mbappé tops the Pichichi charts again, but Muriqi is in hot pursuit

In the season after being awarded with the prize for the league’s top scorer, Mbappé is currently leading the scoring charts again with 23 goals in 27 appearances. The Frenchman took the league by storm in his first Spanish season by ending 2024/25 on 31 goals, earning the Pichichi Trophy. This term, though, Mbappé is being closely followed by Vedat Muriqi, the RCD Mallorca striker who is having the season of his life. The Kosovo international has 21 goals, and is in better form given that 10 of his goals have come in the second half of the season. It’ll be fascinating to see if Mbappé can retain his individual prize, or if Muriqi can become the first RCD Mallorca player to win the Pichichi Trophy since Dani Güiza in 2007/08.

Joan García is battling himself for the Zamora Trophy

FC Barcelona goalkeeper Joan García is the current leader of the battle for the Zamora Trophy, awarded to the goalkeeper with the lowest goals-to-games ratio. Having conceded 19 goals in 25 games, he tops the rankings with a ratio of 0.76 goals conceded per game. Curiously, his two closest contenders are Real Madrid’s Thibaut Courtois (ratio of 0.86) and Atlético de Madrid’s Jan Oblak (ratio of 0.96). The Belgian and the Slovenian have both been out for several weeks with injuries, meaning Joan García has been battling himself in recent weeks. The Barça man has long known the numbers of his absentee rivals, and just needs to avoid conceding so many that his own ratio drops to their level.

It’s a Barça battle for the Zarra Trophy

As for the battle for the Zarra Trophy, awarded to the Spanish player with the highest goals tally, Lamine Yamal is currently in pole position to take this prize. The 18-year-old has 15 goals so far this league campaign, having scored far more than he did in 2024/25 when he netted nine league goals through FC Barcelona’s championship-winning run. But, Lamine Yamal is being closely followed by one of his own teammates in the race for his first Zarra Trophy, with Ferran Torres having netted 14 times. Real Sociedad’s Mikel Oyarzabal is also still in the race, as the captain of La Real has 12 goals so far. This one really could come down to the wire.
