Betika CEO Mrutu resigns in a huff as mass exodus continues at the betting firm

There is a crisis at local betting firm Betika following a spate of resignations by top-line managers in the last few months.

The trend intensified about two weeks ago when the company’s Chief Executive Officer Nicholas Mruttu became the latest high-profile staff to part ways with the firm, regarded as one of the leading in the country.

It is not yet clear why Mruttu decided to leave such an influential position, with his next destination unknown.

Mruttu had been in the position for roughly two years after he replaced former CEO John Mbatia who also left under unclear circumstances.

Mruttu’s departure comes barely four months after the firm’s Head of Marketing Jackie Tonui left to join business rivals BetKing.
