Kenya to play Turkey in August, France and Italy next year

Kenya’s senior men national football team Harambee Stars’ head coach Engin Firat has said the team will play against Turkey national in August, during the Fifa window, to help Stars players start getting used to big matches.

Firat who was talking to www.mediaguru.co.ke, from his base in Ankara said it was important for Harambee Stars to play against top footballing nations to be able to gain from their opponents.

“From my connections in Turkey, I have requested a friendly with the national team in August. We will also play a few international friendlies with teams in the gulf. The problem is that these friendly matches are usually booked early or rather in advance, that’s why we cannot get many friendlies at the moment,” Firat told Media Guru.

He added: “However, next year, I plan to organise matches against bigger teams like Italy and France.”

Firat, believes that with proper preparation, he can help Harambee Stars qualify for the 2026 Fifa World Cup to be co-hosted by USA, Canada and Mexico.
