For the Galician club’s fanbase, this promotion ends a long eight-year exodus from the top flight. The improvement made by RC Deportivo from last season to this has been remarkable. Several players have stood out, but the star man has been Yeremay Hernández, the winger from the Canary Islands who has 11 goals and 10 assists this season. Having come through the club’s youth academy, this is a special achievement for the 23-year-old.
