The famous Likoni flats estate in Likoni, Mombasa is finally coming down after demolition of the landmark buildings began last week.
Tenants vacated the houses in mid-month before the demolitions began and currently almost 70 per cent of the building have been brought down as the government plans to build new affordable houses to replace the old ones.
The estate is known to have housed some local stars in the country like athlete Rose Tata Muya and musician Fundi Frank just to name a few.
