Football mad ICT Cabinet Secretary (CS) Eliud Owalo today hosted Premier League side AFC Leopards players and officials to a breakfast meeting where he donated 40 pieces of track suits to the team on the eve of their derby against arch rivals Gor Mahia.
“ I have this morning met AFC Leopards SC players and officials and handed over 40 track suits and a modest financial support, ahead of tomorrow’s derby with Gor Mahia FC, whom I will be meeting later in the day,” Owalo told Media Guru.
He added: “Present was Sports and Youth Affairs CS, Ababu Namwamba, AFC Leopards Chairman Dan Shikanda, SG Gilbert Andugu; Treasurer Oliver Imbenzi; and coach Patrick Aussems.”
“I invite AFC and Gor fans to turn out at Nyayo Stadium in massive numbers to support their teams. Positive competition between Gor and AFC is the pathway to restoration of Kenya’s football glory.”
