Plenty of action expected as the 42nd edition of the Kenya Communications Sports Organisation (KECOSO) games land in Narok.
A highly powered delegation of the KECOSO games led by the secretary general Omole Asiko will be in Narok town tomorrow to oversee the counties preparedness in hosting this years edition of the games to be held from August 19-26, 2023.
According to Asiko Narok was selected to host the games due to its capabilities in hotel capacity to host officials, participants, security and safety arrangements.
He confirmed that Narok outsmarted Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Meri, Nakuru and Eldoret to win the hosting rights of the annual games.
Asiko confirmed that Narok Stadium will host most of the games like football, volleyball, basketball, netball and athletics while scrabble, pool, table tennis and darts will be held at the members club just a stone throw away from the stadium. Swimming will be held at the Lexington hotel while other events will be held at the Maasai Mara University.
Asiko, however, noted that Nakuru will host golf since Narok does not have a golf course.
The objectives of the games include promoting sports activities within member organizations; promoting closer relationships and business interaction.
Teams expected to participate are KBC, Communication authority(CA), Kenya Ports Authority and Posta among others.
Already the luxurious Maestro Bistro lounge in Narok town has shown interest in sponsoring the games.
