The High Court has this morning ordered a recount of votes and scrutiny of forms 37 As, Forms 37Bs and Form 37C in 7 constituencies across Homa Bay County.
Justice Roselyne Aburili who is hearing a petition challenging Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga’s victory made the directives after the petitioner Evans Kidero proved a prima facie case to warrant the recount of votes and scrutiny of the forms in the seven out of eight constituencies he had cited electoral malpractices in the August polls.
The recount of votes and scrutiny shall be carried out in the seven constituencies namely Kasipul, Rangwe, Suba South, Kabondo Kasipul, Ndhiwa, Suba North and Homa Bay town. The judge has ordered the recounting exercise to be carried out under the direct supervision of the Deputy Registrar of Homa Bay High Court in the presence of each of the parties’ four agents led by the IEBC officials and a report filed in court as soon as possible. The hearing of the petition resumes on November 24th.
